If you are enrolled in a program with Automatic Smart Charging with your home charging station, your charging will be optimally scheduled each time you plug in at home based on your settings.
You can visit your WeaveGrid dashboard to customize your Automatic Smart Charging settings. You can set your charging finish time for each day of the week.
WeaveGrid considers several factors when determining your smart charging times, including the lowest-cost periods you can charge to meet your upcoming driving needs and the overall electric grid conditions.
To create your charging plan, WeaveGrid does the following:
- Estimates your daily mileage needs based on your last few charges and charges you to that amount by your departure time every day.
- Sends you an SMS message when you plug in, with the charging start time and when your vehicle will be ready. If you ever need to cancel or change your charging schedule, check out: Can I cancel or change an Automatic Smart Charging Schedule if needed?
- Charges immediately if there’s not enough time to reach your needed mileage.
Based on your inputs, WeaveGrid algorithms prioritize meeting the following goals in order:
- Get your car charged to your target battery level by the time you need it, respecting any advanced features you’ve enabled
- Charge at the lowest-cost times
- Charge when energy generation is cheapest or when the electric grid stress is lowest
Tip: WeaveGrid is a web-based app, so be sure to bookmark it in your browser for easy access!
