How do Peak Demand Events work with Automatic Smart Charging?

If applicable, your vehicle’s charging will automatically be rescheduled to avoid charging during periods of high energy demand.

When Peak Demand Events are a factor, WeaveGrid algorithms prioritize meeting the following goals in order:

1. Avoid charging during Peak Demand Events
2. Get your car charged up by the time you need it
3. Charge at the cheapest times
4. Charge when energy generation is cheapest or electric grid stress is lowest

WeaveGrid will charge your EV to meet the settings in your WeaveGrid dashboard, as much as possible, while avoiding the Peak Demand Event hours.

Remember, if you ever need to charge during a Peak Demand Event, you can override the charge schedule generated by WeaveGrid directly on your charger or vehicle, or through their dedicated apps. You can also reply “CHARGE NOW” to 59972 to start charging immediately. 

If you have Low Battery Protection enabled, your Low Battery Protection charging will start at the end of the Peak Demand Event.
